Het stadsbestuur presenteerde dinsdag een voorstel voor een nieuw pakket aan bezuinigingen. De Deventer culturele instellingen, het Deventer Sportbedrijf en de Wijkaanpak moeten het met flink wat minder geld proberen te doen. De culturele instellingen samen moeten 700.000 euro bezuinigen, en het Sportbedrijf krijgt 200.000 euro minder. Op zich een slok op een borrel want het Sportbedrijf zit al een hele tijd in de groep van Deventer grootontvangers van subsidie.
Het Sportbedrijf krijgt 4,5 miljoen euro subsidie per jaar. En er loopt ook nog een rekenkameronderzoek naar het bedrijf waar de gemeente zelf de enige aandeelhouder is. Deze nieuwe bezuinigingsronde komt bovenop de 15 miljoen van 2010 en de 1,8 miljoen van 2012. Er wordt nu gesneden in verschillende budgetten en gemeentelijke taken. De wijkvoorzieningen moeten het samen doen. En ook speelplekken, buurthuizen en mogelijk speeltuinverenigingen moeten het met minder geld zien te rooien.
De Deventer wijkaanpak krijgt 300.000 euro minder en gekoppeld kinderen en jongerenwerk moet het met 120.000 euro minder doen. De culturele instellingen moeten samen 700.000 euro zien te bezuinigen. Over de exacte financiële invulling wordt de komende weken door de politiek gesproken. Ook het compleet schrappen van de subsidie aan een culturele of sportinstelling is een optie. Stichting de Ulebelt moet het met 100.000 euro minder doen, maar wel op een totaalsubsidie van 424.000 euro. Verder wil de gemeente besparen door versobering op onderhoud, minder open zijn voor publiek en afbouwen van internationaal beleid. De verdere uitwerking van de plannen gaat de komende maanden plaatsvinden.
De raad gaat in maart in gesprek met de Deventer samenleving. Deze brede maatschappelijke oriëntatie is de basis voor een richtinggevend politiek debat over de bezuinigingen eind maart. Dan bepaalt de raad in welke richting de definitieve bezuinigingen verder uitgewerkt moeten worden.
Het college doet daarna bijgestelde en verder uitgewerkte bezuinigingsvoorstellen. De raad bespreekt die in de politieke markt van 12 juni. Op 19 juni besluit de raad over definitieve bezuinigingsmaatregelen. Dan wordt de Voorjaarsnota vastgesteld, die dient als basis voor de begroting van 2014 en daarna.
